Hanbat Sullungtang
Notorious for two things:
1. Regularly getting a C health rating and not bothering to ask the health department to do a reinspection so they can try for a higher grade.
2. Staunchly supportive of LAPD pigs and proud of it, with a sign on its facade declaring so.
“Hanbat Shul-lung-tang” on 5th Street is a small hole-in-the-wall Korean restaurant whose specialty is Seolleong-tang (ox-bone soup).
Reportedly adds “coffee creamer in to get the white color of the broth – instead of actually boiling the beef bones for hours to get the color.”
Open 7:00 am to 10:00 pm on most days. Closed on Sundays.
