Soymilk in Koreatown, Los Angeles… 두유
Soy Milk is a very popular drink for children in South Korea, where they are given tetrapak boxes to enjoy. The type of soymilk widely available in SoKor is cream-colored, different from the pure white that is seen in the United States.
In recent years, cafes in Koreatown have started offering soymilk as an option in drinks for newly arrived hipster adults.
You can buy soymilk packaged in small and large tetra-packs at any Korean supermarket like H Mart or Galleria Market. The most popular lonstanding brand is arguably Vegemil (베지밀), which now has banana-flavored and black-bean versions.
