소금빵
The simple Japanese-origin “salt bread” gained viral fame in Korea as sogeum-ppang, leading to creative fillings like matcha or pistachio.
A number of Ktown bakeries do carry this ostentatious Korean-style salt bread.
For example, Out of Ordi on 8th Street offers buttery, flaky salt bread topped with sea-salt flakes and filled with melting butter or flavors like matcha, pistachio, and black sesame. It sells out quickly daily, with limits like four pieces per person on weekends, drawing long lines for its airy, slightly sweet dough.
