Chapman Plaza

채프먼 플라자. 6가+ 알렉산드리아… 1920년대 건축 지중해식 건물… 한때 할리웃스타 드나들던 LA명물… 채프만 플라자의 또 다른 이름은 채프만 파크 마켓으로 1928년부터 1년에 걸친 공사 끝에 완공 됐다. 당시 서부에서 가장 큰 드라이브 인 마켓으로 파머스 마켓 형태로 운영됐다. 지중해-스페인 스타일에서 영향을 받아 고풍스러운 분위기로 건축됐으며 지금도 할리웃 영화촬영 장소로 각광받고 있다.

The historic building was built in 1929 by Morgan, Walls & Clements, the architectural firm known for its devotion to Spanish Revival–style design. The exterior is almost castlelike, with thick concrete walls fashioned to resemble sandstone and decorated with ornate detailing some architecture buffs call Churrigueresque, referencing a style of ornamentation popular in 17th-century Spain.
