Did you know that the Cobb Salad came about in 1937 at the Brown Derby restaurant, where it became a signature dish? It is named for the restaurant’s owner, Robert Howard Cobb.
Opened in 1926, the original restaurant at 3427 Wilshire Boulevard remains the most famous of all Brown Derby restaurants due to its distinctive shape. Whimsical architecture was popular at the time, and the restaurant was designed to catch the eye of passing motorists.
