Shinsaegae means “New World.” 신세계백화점 (선물센터/백화점)

This is not a Western-style department store, but a large gift shop devoted to traditional Korean items, such as baby hanbok clothing, norigae, masks, fans, souvenirs, trinkets, short Korean-style dinner tables, yibul (quilts) and ceramics. They have lower-end Korean-made mink blankets ranging in price from $40 upwards.

Staffed by Korean clerks classically trained in rudeness towards non-Koreans. Strict “no camera”and “no video” policy.
