COMPETITIVE DANCEWEAR
In ballroom competition (waltz, foxtrot, tango, quickstep), the men are required to wear tail suits, which must be meticulously custom-tailored to lay smoothly on the shoulders when the arms are lifted to hold the lady. The tail suit must create a long elegant body line.
Until a few decades ago, male competitors have had to order their suits from tailors in London and Tokyo.
