The sign has been up on the Western Avenue side of the Solair building since at least 2009. Häagen-Dazs never moved in due to problems with the lease terms around 2010-2011 when the building had its string of controversies. As of January 2015, there are still absolutely no plans for Häagen-Dazs to open a Koreatown branch location in the area of Wilshire & Western.

In 2010, the Los Angeles City Council formally declared Koreatown's borders as Western Avenue, Olympic Boulevard, Vermont Avenue, and 3rd Street, with a business corridor on Western from 3rd to Rosewood Avenue.
