The Boiling Crab opened its Los Angeles location in Koreatown on MLK Day — Monday, January 17, 2011.

It is located in the Brown Derby Plaza on Wilshire and Alexandria, across the boulevard from the Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools. Right next door to it is Wako Donkasu and in front is Cafe Home.

A line of young people stood outside waiting for TBC’s grand opening at 3:00 pm. A server took down their names and at the appointed time, they were ushered in to be seated and handed their bibs. The first group of customers eagerly started doodling on the wood-paneled walls, which management does encourage of its customers.

The manager and many of the team members are from the Garden Grove location — extremely well trained and selected for their natural affability. Hours in Koreatown will be the same as in other TBC locations — Monday to Friday, 3-10-pm; Saturday to Sunday, 12-10 PM.

Menu includes blue crabs, raw oysters, Dungeness crabs (seasonal), king crab legs, lobster (seasonal), crawfish (seasonal), shrimp, clams, fried catfish, calamari, chicken tenders, Cajun hot wings, gumbo, Cajun fries, soda and beer.

Prices for the shellfish start from 7.99 a pound.Water is 25 cents. An 18% of gratuity will be added for parties of six or more.
