Palsaik Sam-Gyup-Sal is a Korean BBQ restaurant whose specialty is samgyeopsal (pork belly, akin to uncured bacon).
The restaurant’s name is pronounced “pahl-sehk” (eight colors) and it’s meant to represent eight “colorful” flavors of pork — wine, original, ginseng, garlic, herb, curry, miso paste, and red pepper paste. Original refers to unmarinated pork.
The $49.99 dinner sampler includes all eight flavors of pork, as well as seafood miso stew, mushrooms, lettuce wraps, salad, bean sprouts, and scorched-rice soup. To get just one variant of pork would cost anywhere from $5.99 for a strip of unmarinated pork to $19.99 for a whole fold of ginseng-infused pork.
